The department works to make the graduated students able to absorb and apply scientific value to the basic rules of different science taught in the department and combining between basic medical education and practical scientific application in health care delivery and medical service. To reach the ultimate goal of \u00a0 diagnosis of the causative agents of different diseases in the community and from different sources, in ways that supported globally and enable the students of these methods theoretically and practically.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mission<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Our mission is providing an academic environment knowledge and research applied to the student and to provide education and excellence training in molecular cell biology, genetics and medical microbiology. Upgrading the knowledge and skills demanded by preliminary studies at the faculty of medicine to be able to visualize the importance\u00a0of different causative agents of diseases (pathogenic microorganisms, parasites and immunological factors).This is according to module courses such as respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, genital, integumentary, and central nervous systems, also supervising for research module. The students will acknowledge the pathogens impact on community health, methods of spread, antigenicity and pathogenicity\u00a0and thus how to diagnose those agents in the clinical\u00a0laboratories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Future Vision<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Achieve excellence level locally and regionally in the field of medical microbiology and biomedical sciences through development, follow-up and keep up with the new and updates in these sciences and enable students to absorb and utilize them. Also, to establish post graduate studies of the various subjects in the department in collaboration with other department in the college and peer department in other colleges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objectives<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To provide students of the first stage with a strong base of basic and medical information related to the knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, and genetics.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. To provide students of the third stage with basic and necessary information in Bacteriology, immunology, Virology, Mycology and Parasitology.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. To provide students with the basics of laboratory diagnosis of various disease.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. To realize how important are the different causative agents and their \u00a0 pathogenicity and its impact on the health of the individual and society.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. To provide students with the skills of scientific education and research for self-learning, and training and to get good qualifications in this medical specialty, and the ability to do good and conducting scientific research.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Keep students with up to date knowledge with all topics that are new in the field of different subjects that taught in the department.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. To participate in the scientific and research committees of the college.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. To participate in conferences and scientific activities of State.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. To participate in approving the research plan of post graduate students in various colleges related to competences and to provide advice and assistance to them.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
