[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]According to the Health Professions Residency Law for Medical and Health Practitioners, graduates of Iraqi medical colleges are subject to this law and are eligible for centralized appointments to follow a structured residency program. This program includes:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Starting with the Rotating Residency: A period where graduates gain clinical experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Progressing through the residency stages: Graduates advance based on their years of service.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Concluding with Senior Residency: The final stage in their medical training.<\/span><\/p>\n

This process is governed by Law No. (6) of 2000, titled The Residency of Medical and Health Practitioners.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Points from Law No. (6) of 2000:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Article 1: Medical professionals, including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and health practitioners, are appointed under the law. The duration of the medical and health residency is three (3) years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 – Article 2 (A): Supporting health professionals, as mentioned in paragraph (5) of Article (1), are also appointed based on the Ministry of Health\u2019s needs, with a specific percentage of the total appointments being allocated to them. This percentage is regulated by instructions from the Minister of Health.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 – Article 2 (B): The Ministry of Health is required to allocate 25% of vacant positions annually from its staffing resources to supporting health professionals under the deletion and creation framework within the Ministry and provincial health departments.<\/span><\/p>\n
