[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Al-Kindy College of Medicine, a leading institution in Iraq, has made significant contributions to the international dialogue on healthcare communication. The college participated in the prestigious International Conference on Healthcare Communication (ICCH 2024), held in Zaragoza, Spain, from September 9-13, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

A highlight of Al-Kindy’s participation was the presentation of a research poster focusing on the evolution of patient communication skills and their integration into the medical curriculum. Led by Dr. Abdulsalam Saleh, an expert in communication skills, and co-authored by Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Taghreed Al-Haidari ,Prof. Dr. Youssef Abdul-Rahim , Prof. Dr. Lujin Anwar Al-Khazarji and students, the poster explored how the college has enhanced its curriculum to prioritize effective communication between healthcare providers and patients.<\/span><\/p>\n

The poster also shed light on the role of autoethnography in medical education. This qualitative research method allows for a deep exploration of personal experiences, enabling researchers to understand the social and cultural factors that shape healthcare interactions.<\/span><\/p>\n

ICCH 2024 brought together researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to exchange ideas and share best practices in healthcare communication. The conference, organized by the International Association for Healthcare Communication (EACH) in partnership with the Academy for Healthcare Communication (ACH), provided a unique platform for Al-Kindy College to connect with international experts and showcase its commitment to improving patient care through enhanced communication.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
