[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Alkindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, has initiated the Basic Life Support in Obstetrics (BLSO) training program, marking its first implementation in Iraq. This globally recognized program, conducted under the guidance of the Dean, Professor Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Aidani, and in partnership with the National Center for Training and Human Development at the Ministry of Health, focuses on capacity building in managing obstetric emergencies.<\/span>
\nThe BLSO program is integrated into the medical education curriculum for sixth-year students, aiming to enhance their competencies in handling critical maternal and neonatal emergencies. The initial cohort of students received their training under the instruction of prominent faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Taghreed Al-Haidari, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Thikra Najm, and Prof. Dr. Sahar Jassim.<\/span>
\nThe comprehensive training encompassed both theoretical instruction and practical sessions, equipping students with essential, life-saving skills in obstetrics. This initiative plays a critical role in preparing future physicians with the expertise required to provide high-quality healthcare services to women in Iraq.<\/span>
\nProfessor Dr. Al-Aidani commended the BLSO program, highlighting its significance in fostering student competencies and advancing academic and clinical excellence within the country.
