The Continuing Education Unit at Al-Kindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific lecture titled \u201cHuman Papillomavirus and Its Relationship to Cervical Cancer\u201d to raise health awareness about prevention and the importance of early detection.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture was attended by Asst. Prof. Muhannad Munther Abdulghani, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Hijaz Ismail, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and a number of faculty members. The session was chaired by Asst. Prof. Mohammed Yaseen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sara Rahim, who introduced the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), its major types, routes of transmission, and patterns of spread, while highlighting key factors associated with infection risk.<\/span><\/p>\n

She focused on the link between certain high-risk HPV types and cervical cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular screening in identifying abnormal changes and reducing the risk of disease progression and complications.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture also highlighted prevention strategies, including health education, immunization programs, and greater community awareness to reduce HPV transmission and cervical cancer risks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The session featured active scientific engagement, with discussions and questions that strengthened participants\u2019 academic and health-related understanding of the topic.<\/span><\/p>\n
