The Continuing Education Unit at Al-Kindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific lecture titled \u201cAdvances in the Pharmacological Treatment of Elevated Blood Lipids,\u201d highlighting recent therapeutic options and innovative drug technologies used to manage dyslipidemia and reduce cardiovascular complications.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture was attended by Asst. Prof. Muhannad Munther Abdulghani, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Hijaz Ismail, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and a number of faculty members. The session was chaired by Asst. Prof. Mohammed Yaseen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Saad Badai Al-Khuzaie, who reviewed the latest medications used to treat elevated blood lipid levels. He also explained the main causes of this chronic condition and its complications, particularly cardiovascular and arterial diseases.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presentation addressed pharmaceutical developments through two main themes. The first covered newer medications within conventional lipid-lowering drug classes, while the second focused on advanced therapeutic groups introduced to global markets during the past decade.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Al-Khuzaie also highlighted biological therapies based on monoclonal antibody technology and treatments using small interfering RNA (siRNA). These innovations have contributed to improving therapeutic effectiveness, extending the duration of treatment action, and reducing adverse effects and drug interactions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture concluded with an overview of future research directions aimed at developing more effective and affordable medicines, thereby improving healthcare quality and expanding access to advanced therapies.<\/span><\/p>\n
