Alkindy College of Medicine played an active role in a recent symposium hosted by Baghdad University. The event focused on strategies to boost the presence of Iraqi universities within the prestigious QS World Ranking and Index. Its title, “Analysis of Scientific Research Indicators of Iraqi Universities and Their Impact on QS Ranking Results for Specializations,” highlighted the key factors influencing success in the ranking system.
The symposium, supervised by Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Dhamad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, brought together leaders from across Iraq’s higher education landscape. Presidents of both governmental and private universities were in attendance, along with scientific assistants and deans.
Alkindy College of Medicine was represented by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shahab Al-Eidani, and Scientific Assistant Prof. Dr. Taghreed Al-Haidari.
Baghdad University has earned significant recognition in the QS ranking, achieving advanced positions in both engineering and medical specializations. This includes notable success for the College of Medicine Baghdad and Alkindy College of Medicine.
Dr. Omar Faleh, Head of the Quality Assurance Department at Baghdad University, offered valuable insights into the steps the university took to gain entry into the ranking. He also emphasized Baghdad University’s commitment to maintaining its leadership position within the QS World Index.
