The Media and Government Communication Division at Al-Kindy College of Medicine is responsible for covering and highlighting all the college’s activities and achievements, disseminating this information widely to familiarize the community with the services offered by Al-Kindy College of Medicine in the fields of medicine and health sciences. Continuous communication with the media and government communication department and other media institutions is essential to enhance cooperation.

Objectives

The objective of the Media and Government Communication Division is to enhance the standing of Al-Kindy College of Medicine in the community, inform the public about the college’s activities and achievements, attract talented students from across Iraq and the world, and build bridges of communication with the local community.

Vision

The college aims for the Media and Government Communication Division to be one of the leading centers in media and public relations in Iraq, actively contributing to enhancing the college’s reputation and disseminating its news and achievements.

Division Units

The division consists of two main units:

 

  1. Media Unit: This unit is responsible for producing and disseminating various media materials about the college, such as news articles, reports, photographs, and videos, through different media channels, including newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and social media.
  2. Public Relations Unit: This unit is responsible for establishing relationships with various media and community entities, building communication bridges with them, and coordinating activities and events held at the college.

Responsibilities of the Media Unit

The Media Unit at Al-Kindy College of Medicine plays several important roles, including:

– Documenting and Publishing College Activities and Achievements**: The division monitors and follows up on all college activities and achievements, producing media materials to inform the public and enhance the college’s standing.

– Building Communication Bridges with the Community**: The division seeks to establish communication bridges with the community by building relationships with various media and community entities and coordinating with them to publish news about the college and its achievements.

– Enhancing the College’s Reputation**: The division works to enhance the college’s reputation by producing media materials that reflect a positive image of the college and its achievements in the fields of medicine and health sciences.

Cultural Relations Unit

Objectives of the Unit

The Cultural Relations Unit aims to enhance the scientific proficiency of the college’s staff, including faculty and employees, by participating in scientific conferences held at universities and scientific centers inside and outside Iraq. This includes scholarships, fellowships, study leaves, training, and development courses offered to students at universities worldwide according to their specializations to improve their academic level, if available.

Responsibilities of the Cultural Relations Unit

  1. Promoting applications from faculty and staff for scholarships and fellowships.
  2. Informing about scientific activities received from the Cultural Relations Department of the university presidency.
  3. Monitoring the affairs of students studying abroad regarding the extension of study duration.
  4. Coordinating with the university’s relations department to obtain the necessary approvals for cooperation with external universities or scientific institutions.
  5. Following up with delegates after their return from missions and issuing orders for separation and resumption.
  6. Documenting all incoming and outgoing correspondence and archiving it in the university’s missions and cultural relations department.
  7. Coordinating with the Graduate Studies Division regarding master’s and doctoral students for research fellowships if available.
