Three students from Al Kindy College of Medicine participated in the Young Leaders for Health (YLH) conference in Berlin-Germany Aug., 17th-20th, 2017, Yousif Alrawi (Conference organizing committee), Lina Thamer and Ali Hadi. This conference combined comprehensive workshops and keynote lectures with a simulation of the World Health Assembly (WHA), the major decision-making body of the World Health Organization. Its main target was the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) with a special focus on good health and well-being for all. It put an emphasis on the need for innovation by running a design thinking labs that gave participants the opportunity to develop concrete solutions to real world global health challenges. During the conference our newly-graduated students had the chance to engage with 130 participants from 40 different countries to work on a practical solutions for the health problems that are facing the world today.
