A new CME activity done in the college and it was about the thyroid gland were two of our teaching staff highlights a new reporting system in cytology of the thyroid gland and the recent advances in surgery of the thyroid, Dr. Alaa Qasim from the pathology department gave a briefs about the Pethesda system for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology which has been widely adopted in the United States and abroad for reporting the results of thyroid FNAs while Dr. Saad Rasheed from anatomy department talk about the robotic surgery and using the sublingual approach for thyroidectomy and main indications and limitations of these techniques.
