History and Profile

The Department of Medicine in Al Kindy College of Medicine was established in 1998. The department teaches undergraduate medical students in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth years the needed clinical skills and the principles of the diagnosis, treatment and follows up of the common disorders in all branches of Internal Medicine.

 Vision

The vision of the department is to train the students in Al Kindy College of Medicine to deal properly with common medical diseases through a precise diagnosis by proper history taking and ideal eliciting of physical signs and scientific use of laboratory, physiological and radiologic investigations and finally the proper treatment and follow up.

 Mission

The Department’ mission is to graduate doctors capable of dealing with common medical problems as well as casualty cases in the emergency unit, coronary care units, outpatient’ clinics and medical wards scientifically and to provide excellence academic medical knowledge. The department further goal is to create a basic resource for the future specialist and subspecialist in the different branches of internal medicines.

 Future Vision

Establishing post graduate studies in different specialties in Medicine, whether in higher Diploma or MS.c studies.

 Objectives

  1. To provide the students with the fundamental medical knowledge in internal medicine in general and subspecialties of neurology, nephrology, endocrinology, hematology and rheumatology needed forHistory and ProfileThe Department of Medicine in Al Kindy College of Medicine was established in 1998. The department teaches undergraduate medical students in the fourth, fifth and sixth years the needed clinical skills and the principles of the diagnosis, treatment and follows up of the common disorders in all branches of Internal Medicine.Objectives:
    1. To provide the students with the fundamental medical knowledge in internal medicine in general and subspecialties of neurology, nephrology, endocrinology, hematology and rheumatology needed for diagnosis and management of different medical conditions.
    2. To have enough practice experience to be able to manage the common medical problems including those need intensive and cardiac care units.
    3. To be able to provide advices and instructions in different medical conditions
    4. To help the second- and third-year student in the early clinical exposure module.
    5. To provide student the knowledge through using the newer method of e-teaching with Google classroom and Zoom.
