Quality Assurance:

Quality has become a hallmark of excellence and innovation in all educational, service, and industrial institutions. It focuses on implementing comprehensive quality standards to achieve international accreditation and to secure a distinguished position among advanced global universities.

The Quality Assurance and University Performance Division aims for continuous improvement in its operations and instills the principles of quality assurance among all staff members through self-evaluation practices based on national and international standards. This includes evaluating the performance of faculty and staff and institutional performance according to national classification standards in order to obtain programmatic and institutional accreditation.

The organizational structure of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division includes four units:

 

  1. Quality Assurance Unit
  2. Performance Evaluation Unit
  3. Laboratory Quality Accreditation Unit
  4. Training and Technical Support Unit

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division:

  1. Creating an Environment for Quality Culture: Establish appropriate means to promote a culture of quality within the college.
  2. Library and Information Gathering: Create and index a library to compile information and data about quality systems and accreditations for educational, regional, and international institutions.
  3. Clear Evaluation Criteria: Develop clear criteria for evaluating and improving the performance of faculty members and staff in accordance with university service laws.
  4. Integrated Evaluation System for Administrative Staff: Work towards building an integrated system for evaluating and improving the performance of administrative staff in all relevant areas.
  5. Continuous Self-Evaluation System: Establish a comprehensive system for continuous self-evaluation of all college operations and processes.
  6. Training Programs: Implement suitable training programs based on the practical needs of the accredited quality programs for staff in the division or its affiliated units, and propose programs needed for implementation externally.
  7. Support for Colleges and Institutes Provide support to colleges, institutes, and centers in selecting and adopting standards that will serve as a starting point towards academic accreditation.
  8. Quality Program Implementation Plan: Develop a plan to implement the quality program in the college through coordination between departments in the university center and affiliated units in colleges, centers, and institutes, based on pre-defined quality objectives.
  9. Detailed Data and Statistics: Collect detailed data and statistics about the college to ensure their usefulness in preparing reports related to quality and accreditation.
  10. Monitoring Implementation Activities: Follow up on the implementation of the approved system through auditing rounds, periodic evaluations of locations, and monitoring their performance effectiveness.
  11. Compliance with Legal Requirements: Ensure that educational programs and processes are carried out in accordance with legal requirements and regulations to obtain accreditation certification.

Believing that self-evaluation is a positive indicator of achieving quality in scientific, administrative, and service performance in educational institutions, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at Alkindy College of Medicine regularly conducts various evaluation studies covering different aspects of the college. – A series of evaluation studies on the curriculum at Alkindy College of Medicine (Curriculum Committee).

– Series of studies evaluating exam questions.

– A series of evaluation studies assessing students’ opinions on exam questions and faculty performance, using a higher-to-lower and lower-to-higher evaluation method.
