The unit is one of the most important units that provide guidance and psychological assistance to dear students and how to use time and energy and develop the student’s skills for work and study and for the purpose of reaching and achieving his goals in accordance with these capabilities.
The unit aims to develop the skill, pedagogical and technical aspects by creating all the guiding and psychological means for the student within the college.
Among the tasks that the unit is keen on establishing:
1- Holding courses and workshops by the unit members on a continuous basis in order to extend the horizon of communication with students for educational and psychological rehabilitation in the light of university instructions.
2- Organizing awareness seminars in all psychological, cultural and social fields.
3-Emphasis on the scientific and academic aspects and the development of educational efficiency through continuous effort with students and their effective participation
Activities and events carried out by the Guidance Unit:
- Preparing a work guide for the stage representative, in coordination with the Registration Division.
- Activating the university student’s school card: through small groups for guidance at each stage and by stage counselors
- Dissemination of the basic tasks of the Unit of Educational Guidance and Supervision in Iraqi universities.
- The annual plan of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at Al-Kindi College of Medicine for the academic year 2019-2020.
- Determining the educational stages according to the scientific departments in our college and for all the faculty members.
- Holding periodic meetings with the students of the first stages in our college.
- Holding an orientation symposium for the teachers and school stage guides in our college under the title ((Justification for the Creation of the Educational and Psychological Guidance Unit in the College))
- Holding a training course and a discussion seminar for the faculty’s teachers entitled (Recommendations of the Special Committee on Harassment) on January 15, 2020.
