Alkindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Alkindy Volunteer Team for Medical Education, Accreditation, and Curriculum, held a series of webinars to raise awareness of medical education among medical students.
The webinars covered four key topics:
- What is medical education?
- Accreditation and its forms and aspects
- Teaching and learning
- The role of medical students
The webinars were designed to introduce students to the importance of medical education and its key aspects. They were delivered virtually via Zoom to a maximum of 300 students.
The webinars were presented by Dr. Ameena Khachuri, a graduate of University of Baghdad College of Medicine , and were accompanied by Fatima Kadhim and Abdullah Raed, both from the fifth year of the Alkindy College of Medicine. The event was overseen by Dr. Taghreed Al-Haidery, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Muhannad Munther, head of the Medical Education Unit and the Ibn Sina Unit, also contributed to the online coverage. The webinars were attended by the Dean of the Alkindy College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Eidani, and a number of faculty members.
The webinars were recorded and will be made available to participating students along with a certificate of attendance.
The webinars on medical education contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which is “Quality education for all.”
This is done by providing students with opportunities to learn about the importance of medical education and its key aspects, which helps them to develop their skills and abilities in the field of medicine, and ultimately to provide better healthcare services to society.
