In a historic move that underscores Iraq’s commitment to advancing medical education and enhancing the quality of its graduates, the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) has announced the granting of international recognition to the National Accreditation Committee .

This achievement culminates years of dedicated efforts by the National Accreditation Committee, in collaboration with Iraqi universities and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The recognition firmly establishes Iraq’s dedication to upholding the highest global standards in medical education, ensuring that graduates of Iraqi medical schools possess the competency and skills necessary to deliver exceptional healthcare services to the community.

Expressing her elation at this milestone, the President of the National Accreditation Committee for Medical Colleges in Iraq emphasized that it “crowns the exceptional efforts made by all stakeholders and demonstrates Iraq’s unwavering commitment to developing medical education.”

The President also commended the endeavors of the national evaluation team during their field visit to the ِِAlkindy College of Medicine, which was accompanied by a team of WFME experts.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Shahab Al-Aidani, Dean of the ِِAlkindy College of Medicine, expressed his pride in this achievement, reaffirming that the Alkindy College of Medicine will remain committed to providing distinguished medical education, in line with the highest international standards.
