Overview

The Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Kindy College of Medicine was established in 2022. It operates as an independent unit under the college’s administration. The unit consists of a group of female academics and staff members and seeks to achieve its goals through various programs and activities, including:

– Seminars and awareness lectures on issues affecting women, such as violence against women, reproductive health, and political rights.

– Training and support for female students and staff to develop their skills and capabilities.

– Engagement with government and community entities to foster collaboration and coordination in the field of women’s empowerment.

 

During its brief period of operation, the Women’s Empowerment Unit at Al-Kindy College of Medicine has achieved several milestones, including:

– Organizing an awareness seminar on violence against women, attended by over 100 female students and staff members.

– Providing leadership and management skills training to the college’s female students.

– Collaborating with the Iraqi Ministry of Health to organize a breast cancer awareness campaign.
