Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Research Unit
This unit was established since 2012 and the work was continuing till it was recognized as a complete unit in 2013. Since that time the unit continues its work in spite of teaching undergraduate students.
Vision:
This unit is the first unit in ministry of higher education and scientific research and directed its work and researches to help the community and solve health problems.
Mission:
To develop and build scientific skills in the medical researchers to know the genetic causes of different diseases especially autoimmune diseases, unknown causes of diseases , cancerous diseases and diseases caused by different microbes by identifying HLA-alleles that predispose to or protect against the development of diseases in order to provide the future genetic treatment and predict the prognosis of diseases.
Objectives:
- Build a strong Database about HLA results of the patients
- To achieve a strong scientific research
- Publishing our researches in international journals with impact factor and within Thomson classifications.
- Achievement research that belongs to Master, Doctorate and Board Students.
- Building scientific capacities by establishing workshops , training courses and conferences.
- training undergraduate students about HLA typing
- Contribution with Ministry of Health as Consultants
