The Al-Kindy College of Medicine Library is a supporting academic unit that contributes to strengthening the educational process and scientific research at the College by providing print and electronic medical information resources that serve students, faculty members, and researchers.
The Library holds a diverse, specialized collection of medical books, references, atlases, and scientific journals, organized according to recognized library standards for acquisition, cataloging, and classification, ensuring easy access to information resources and accurate retrieval.
The Library uses the Koha Integrated Library System (ILS) connected to the Internet, which enables the automation of library operations, provides an online public access catalog (OPAC), and improves the efficiency of search and retrieval services. The Library also offers circulation and reading services, library guidance, research support, and training, in line with quality requirements and academic accreditation standards.
Establishment
The Library was established along with the establishment of the College, serving from the beginning as an academic unit supporting education and scientific research. At the time of establishment, the Library’s area was (238 m²) and it was equipped with:

The current Library building is located within the Clinical Scientific Departments Building.
Staff
The Library staff consists of employees specialized in Library and Information Science, with professional experience that qualifies them to manage and organize information resources and provide library services according to scientific standards that support teaching and research at the College.
Library Hall
The Library includes a variety of scientific books and references, as well as theses and dissertations, in addition to dedicated storage areas for preserving free educational resources, ensuring proper organization, preservation, and easy access for beneficiaries.

Theses and Dissertations
The Library has issued a compilation of scientific abstracts for theses and dissertations completed at the College for the period 2011 to 2025, with the aim of documenting the College’s scientific output, supporting research, and facilitating students’ and researchers’ access to academic study outcomes.
