Balsam Ahmed

 graduated from Alkindy college of medicine 2020-2021

She got involved in public health since her third year in medical school and elected as the first female president of International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations’-Iraq (IFMSA-Iraq) for the term 2020-2021.

She served as National officer for reproductive health and rights (SCORA) in the same association 2019-2020

Now she is working in unicef country office to implement Hand Hygiene for All global initiative (HH4A) with the WHO and Iraqi ministries.

She is certified trainer and human rights advocate since 2018 and she gave 3 international trainings for medical students certified from the international federation

She was the Head of Iraqi delegations 4 times to the general assembly of IFMSA which gather more than 900 medical students twice each year from more than 139 countries to vote for the policies of the international federation and make the elections.

One of them was in Rwanda 2020 and last one was in Tunisia 2022.

In collaboration with Iraqi Society of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ISOG) she presented the Obstetric violence as an issue in world patient safety day in presence of Minister of health Dr. Hanny Aleqabi and WHO representative Dr. Ahmed Zuiten.
