Picture a lively gathering at Alkindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad ,a special day filled with the spirit of “Iraq Reads.” Thanks to the dedicated Continuing Education Unit, led by the wonderful Dean Professor Dr. Mohammed Shehab Al-Aidani, the College’s Library Department, Artistic Activities Unit, and Student Activities Unit joined hands to create an event that celebrates the joy of the Arabic language and inspires a love for learning.
The audience was treated to an engaging introduction by Assistant Professor Dr. Salam Ahmed Khalf. He not only shared valuable insights about the important of reading but also spun a delightful short story about an eraser and a pen, adding a touch of literary magic to the occasion.
But the real stars of the show were the students. Abdul Haq Ismail, Mohammed Abdul Sattar, Abbas Shaker, Hassan Ali Fadhel, Sakina Mohammed, and Quds Muthana Abdul Jabbar took the stage with passion, delivering speeches and poems that emphasized the importance of the Arabic language and the magical influence of reading in shaping one’s life.
This heartwarming event is a shining example of the positive impact of student activities. By promoting a culture of reading, and nurturing the creative and intellectual skills of students, events like these contribute significantly to building an empowered generation. This generation is not only capable of carrying forward the rich legacy of the Arabic language but also sharing its beauty with the wider community.
