Alkindy College of Medicine hosted visiting professor Dr. Ali Kuba, an expert in reproductive health and vice president of the European Society of Family Planning, as part of a scientific and cultural exchange between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
The visit was sponsored by the college’s dean, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shihab, and scientific assistant, Dr. Taghreed Al-Heidari. Dr. Kuba, a consultant in obstetrics and gynecology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London, delivered an interactive lecture to third-year , fourth-year , and fifth-year medical students. The lecture focused on the latest developments in reproductive health and their impact on the social structure of families and societies.
Dr. Kuba also met with the editor-in-chief of the Alkindy College of Medicine Medical Journal, Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Khalid, and managing editor, Dr. Laith Thamer, to discuss areas of cooperation and how to improve the journal.
The scientific meeting was an opportunity for attendees to learn from Dr. Kuba’s experience and benefit from his valuable expertise in developing the field of medicine and healthcare in Iraq. At the end of the meeting, the dean and faculty of Alkindy College of Medicine expressed their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kuba for his valuable participation and significant contribution to the college’s medical education.
