The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the avi Cina Unit, held an online workshop entitled “Health and Social Challenges Resulting from Drug Abuse and Psychotropic Substances” in which Prof.Dr. Thamer Al-Halfi, a consultant at the World Health Organization, gave a lecture on the regional framework for Middle Eastern countries to enhance the health system’s response to the problem of drug and psychotropic substances abuse, where Dr.  Imad Abdul Razzaq, a mental health advisor at the Ministry of Health,talked about  the psychological and social determinants of substance abuse and psychotropic substances in Baghdad. The workshop concluded with a lecture on misuse of drugs and alcohol abuse in the post-crisis period in Iraq presented by the psychiatrist at the college Dr. Noor Ali Hassan
The workshop organized via the Zoom platform attended by many of the college’s teaching staff, in addition to a number of university affiliates who are interested in the subject.
