The Dean of Al-Kindy College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Eidani, participated in the 15th UIMA International Scientific Conference, held in London on October 3–4, 2026.

The conference was organized by the United Iraqi Medical Association (UIMA) and brought together physicians, academics, healthcare professionals, and representatives of medical and educational institutions to exchange knowledge, discuss current developments, and strengthen professional and academic collaboration.

During the conference, Professor Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Eidani participated in a panel discussion alongside a number of deans of Iraqi medical colleges. The session addressed the current state of medical education in Iraq, opportunities for further development, and ways to strengthen the exchange of academic experience between Iraqi and international medical institutions.

Professor Al-Eidani also held discussions with Professor Dr. Momen Al-Junaidi, Dean of Ninevah College of Medicine, focusing on challenges facing medical education in Iraq, the development of academic programmes, and the importance of adopting contemporary approaches and international best practices in medical education.

As part of the conference’s scientific programme, Professor Al-Eidani also chaired one of the scientific discussion sessions, which included physicians and academics from Iraq and the United Kingdom.

His participation reflects the active presence of the University of Baghdad and Al-Kindy College of Medicine in international academic and scientific forums, while supporting dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in medical education and healthcare.

Participation in the conference forms part of Al-Kindy College of Medicine’s continuing efforts to strengthen its international academic engagement, expand opportunities for institutional cooperation, and benefit from global experiences in the development of medical education and scientific research.

Through such participation, the College seeks to connect local academic development with international experience and create opportunities for future partnerships that contribute to improving medical education, research, and healthcare.
