Al-Kindy College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized an introductory lecture for faculty members on the KMC Learning Nexus and its use in managing digital courses and educational content.
The lecture was delivered by Noor Faris Abdul Kareem, Head of the Information Technology Division, in the presence of the Dean of Al-Kindy College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Eidani, the Assistant Deans, and members of the academic staff.
The session was held as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to develop its digital learning environment and expand the effective use of Learning Management Systems in medical education.
The lecture introduced KMC Learning Nexus as the College’s official digital learning environment, built on the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). Faculty members were also introduced to the platform’s organizational structure and the way courses and educational modules are arranged into sections and topics.
The session provided practical guidance on adding lectures, educational resources, and online learning activities. It also explained the distinction between Resources and Activities within Moodle and highlighted how each can be used to support different teaching and learning objectives.
The lecture further introduced the concepts of Tags and Competencies, explaining their role in organizing educational content, improving content classification, and linking learning materials and activities with intended learning outcomes and competencies.
The initiative supports Al-Kindy College of Medicine’s broader digital transformation strategy and aims to strengthen faculty capacity in the effective use of educational technology, while creating a more structured, interactive, and accessible learning environment for students.
