Prof. Dr. Batoul Matar Mahdi, head of the histocompatibility research unit at the college, participated in the discussion committee for the doctoral student’s thesis (Iqbal Maafi Abdullah) tagged:

 (Assessment of splicing factor SP3B1, CA 15-3, CA 125 and anti Rituximab antibody as prognostic factors in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia)

 At the College of Medicine/University of Baghdad, at the Postgraduate Discussion Hall in the Microbiology Branch, on Tuesday morning 4-1-2022.

 The discussion committee, in addition to Prof. Dr. Batoul Matar Mahdi, consisted of Prof. Haifa Salman Abdul Rahim/ College of Medicine – University of Baghdad/ as chairperson, Prof. Dr. Yassin Mohi Al-Din Taher/ College of Medicine/ Iraqi University/ member, Prof. Dr.. Sinan Bahjat Issa/ College of Medicine/ Ibn Sina University/ Member, Prof. Sarmad Muhammad Hussein/ College of Medicine/ University of Baghdad/ Member and Prof. Muhammad Marouf Muhammad/ College of Medicine/ University of Baghdad/ member, supervisor and Prof. Alaa Fadel Alwan/ College of Medicine/ Al-Mustansiriya University/ member and supervisor.

 The study aimed to search for the presence and generation of antibodies to rutuximab treatment in patients suffering from chronic lymphocytic leukemia after giving them treatment and they were followed up for a period of three to six months and considered as a factor to identify the extent to which the patient’s condition improved or had a relapse in the disease. In addition, SP3B1, CA 15-3, and CA 125 were measured and evaluated in these patients.
