The Research 101 Workshop, organized by the Scientific Research Committee of Alkindy College of Medicine’s Student Volunteer Team, marked a transformative step towards fostering research excellence for the 2024-2025 academic year. This initiative aims to equip students with essential research skills, setting the stage for impactful contributions to medical science and beyond.

Spanning two and a half months, from September 6 to November 19, 2024, the workshop delivered a rich, integrated academic experience. With five engaging sessions, participants delved into the foundations of scientific research under the mentorship of leading experts.

The workshop featured an outstanding lineup of speakers, including:

 

Dr. Yousif Abdul Kareem, faculty member at Alkindy College, who led a pivotal session on research fundamentals.

Dr. Mohammed Dhia Marsoul, Mayo Clinic research fellow and proud alumnus, whose session enriched discussions with his global insights.

Dr. Hussein Abdulkadhim, AI specialist from the University of Kufa, and Dr. Hashem Talib, Head of Research at the University of Warith Al-Anbiya, who introduced advanced topics in medical research and artificial intelligence.

Participants explored a range of critical subjects, including:

With over 50 students from various academic stages and faculties, the workshop created a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. What truly set the program apart was its practical orientation—students applied concepts through structured assignments after each session, ensuring hands-on experience.
