Al-Kindy College of Medicine / University of Baghdad achieved third place in Iraq’s Scientific Departments Ranking (IRU) 2025, scoring 80.69 with a “Very Good” rating—an achievement that reflects the College’s continued progress in academic and institutional performance.

The IRU ranking is based on scientific indicators that assess institutional and research quality across colleges and scientific departments, including institutional and program accreditation, teaching quality, and faculty capacity.Evaluation areas also included research effectiveness (publications and citations), presence in international rankings, development of scientific laboratories, scientific awards, and international collaboration, in addition to sustainability indicators, occupational health and safety, student activities, and the academic reputation of medical disciplines.

This advancement reflects the sustained efforts of the College leadership and its academic and administrative staff to strengthen academic programs, enhance medical education quality, and adhere to accreditation and quality standards—reinforcing Al-Kindy College of Medicine’s position among Iraqi medical colleges.
