Female faculty members from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Al-Kindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, contributed to the work of Iraq’s National Maternal Mortality Surveillance and Response Committee, reflecting the College’s commitment to health awareness and national efforts to protect mothers’ lives.

Prof. Dr. Taghreed Al-Haidari and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sahar Jasim participated as committee members in the monthly meeting, which reviewed the latest updates and reports submitted by provinces, discussed practical solutions to reduce maternal mortality rates, and explored ways to strengthen the performance of healthcare teams working in obstetrics and gynecology.

This contribution aligns with the renewed activities of the College’s Women’s Affairs Unit, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nada Sabah, which aims to expand the role of female academics and physicians in national initiatives and empower them to lead impactful health and community programs—reinforcing Al-Kindy College of Medicine’s position as a leading institution in supporting women’s leadership and social responsibility.
