Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Eidani, Dean of Al-Kindy College of Medicine / University of Baghdad, chaired a special committee to evaluate and approve Al-Shaab Hospital and Al-Numan Hospital (Baghdad) as teaching hospitals for medical students of the College of Medicine at Al-Iraqia University, following the directive of Prof. Dr. Ameen Al-Alwani, Chair of the Iraqi Committee of Medical College Deans.

The committee conducted field visits and a comprehensive academic assessment of both hospitals, including training departments, outpatient consultant clinics, admission wards and emergency units, operating theaters, and other service facilities directly linked to clinical education and training.

The evaluation also reviewed infrastructure readiness, educational and training services, and compliance with national accreditation standards issued by Iraq’s National Council for the Accreditation of Medical Colleges. Committee members emphasized the importance of qualified medical staffing and the availability of educational tools to ensure an effective clinical training environment aligned with national and international quality standards.

This initiative reflects Al-Kindy College of Medicine’s continued support for academic accreditation pathways and hands-on clinical learning, strengthening cooperation to enhance medical education and serve both students and the wider community.
