As part of its institutional collaboration program with state organizations, Al-Kindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific event titled “Health in Ramadan” in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports / Scientific Care Department.
The event was attended by College Dean Professor Dr. Mohammed Shihab Al-Eidani, his Assistant for Scientific Affairs, faculty members, and students. The Ministry of Youth and Sports delegation was led by Dr. Neama Jassim Al-Ghalbi, Director of the Scientific Care Department.
Engineer Basma Ibrahim Hassan from the Ministry opened with an introductory presentation on the Scientific Care Department’s role in developing youth capabilities and enhancing their societal participation through training programs and scientific initiatives.
Assistant Lecturer Dr. Raja Mohammed Ali Al-Mubaraq, from the college’s Biochemistry Department, delivered a scientific lecture on the chemical changes occurring in the human body during fasting and their impact on metabolic processes and energy regulation.
Second-year student Mustafa Jassim Hassan presented research on how post-iftar eating patterns affect body weight regulation, highlighting healthy dietary habits during Ramadan.
