Al-Kindy College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, hosted the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) exam as the only accredited test center in Iraq for this assessment. The exam welcomed 12 candidates from different Iraqi provinces, reflecting strong national confidence in the College’s academic and operational capabilities.

The exam was conducted under the follow-up of the Dean, Prof. Mohammed Shihab Al-Aidani, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Muhannad Munther Abdulghani, with all logistical and technical requirements provided to ensure a smooth and compliant exam process.

The exam was also supervised by the Exam Officer, Dr. Tara Barqi Rashid, who closely monitored organizational and technical aspects to maintain adherence to the exam’s standards and procedures.

The ICO exam is considered one of the leading global assessments in ophthalmology, evaluating scientific knowledge and clinical competence against rigorous international benchmarks. The College reaffirmed its commitment to supporting international programs and strengthening its role as an accredited academic hub contributing to the development of medical professionals in Iraq.
